Adaptive Swim Program for People with Disabilities

Enjoy the benefits of our Adaptive Aquatics Swim Program for children and adults with physical and or developmental disabilities where inclusiveness, safety and fun come together in the water. The Adaptive Aquatics Swim program offers aquatic exercise therapy that ranges from gentle water walking to aerobic-type exercise which improves range of motion, flexibility, mobility, muscle tone, coordination, focus and strength, as well as swim instruction that focuses on becoming comfortable in the water while learning basic swimming and safety skills led by an Aquatic Specialist.

– Masks are strongly encouraged during all activities at recreation centers.
– Wash your hands before attending a program.
– Stay home if you are sick.

All participants must be members of an NYC Parks Recreation Center. Please visit nyc.gov/parks for more information regarding Recreation Center Membership. Membership for children and young adults ages 24 years old and younger are free.  Membership for seniors over the age of 62 years old, veterans and adults with disabilities over the age of 25 years old is $25 annually.
