NYC Civic Engagement Commission The People’s Money: Boroughwide Idea Generation Session Queens

Dear Leaders, CBO’s, Civic Leaders, PTA Associations and Community Leaders,

We are incredibly excited to invite you to The People’s Money: Boroughwide Idea Generation Sessions! Five events, one in each borough, will invite New Yorkers to represent their neighborhood in NYC’s first-ever citywide participatory budgeting process by submitting ideas to address community needs.

Since the Civic Engagement Commission launched The People’s Money on September 12th, 82 partner organizations have hosted over 150 idea generation sessions across the five boroughs, resulting in several hundred ideas being submitted at this early stage of the process. Idea generation sessions are direct opportunities for residents to engage in fun activities, while learning more about the city budget, and the power that their voice can hold to enact real change.

We are asking you to join us for the Queens Boroughwide Idea Generation Session Thursday, November 10th at 5pm at the Queens Borough Hall (Helen Marshall Cultural Center) located at 120-55 Queen Boulevard, Queens, NY 11424.

We are also asking for your help spreading the word to ensure we reach as many of your neighbors as possible! Open seats may be limited due to venue capacity restrictions, so it is important that you share this registration link (on.nyc.gov/PBinYourBorough) and encourage folks to secure their spot. Live interpretation will be available in American Sign Language, Spanish and Chinese.

We are grateful for your partnership and support of this historic program.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Best regards,

Huma Khan
