Dear City Colleagues,
I’m very excited to announce that next week Monday, March 6th through Wednesday, March 8th, DemocracyNYC & The Civic Engagement Commission (CEC) are partnering with the Mayor’s Public Engagement Unit (PEU) and NYC Public Schools (NYCPS) to host 3 Days of Action to kick-off Civics Week and Student Voter Registration Day (SVRD)! SVRD is a citywide effort to register and pre-register eligible students to vote. Since its inception, this initiative has resulted in the registration of over 60,000 students and serves as a critical pathway for young people to become civically involved.
CEC and PEU are still in need of volunteers for these Days of Action! City staff who are interested in participating and supporting voter registration in these schools can sign up below.
