This summer is going to be a busy summer here at the NYC Civic Engagement Commission (CEC) and we need your help! The CEC is looking for community-based organizations and other community networks to help amplify our call for volunteers as we work to bring some exciting programs to your community. Please use our digital toolkit to advertise on social media, in newsletters, and other media outlets.
The CEC is looking for volunteers to take part in New York City’s first city-wide participatory budgeting program, The People’s Money. Volunteers will help engage their fellow New Yorkers as they decide how to spend $5 million on projects to better their communities. Volunteers working with DemocracyNYC will have the opportunity to participate in several Days Of Action aimed at empowering New Yorkers and boosting turnout for this year’s primary and general elections. And that’s just to start.
