NYC’s 5th and 8th graders must take spring’s state tests on computers. Are schools ready?

Last spring, 100,000 students statewide ditched pen and paper for computers for their state testing; 16,300 of them were New York City students. The state will phase in computer-based testing until 2026 when all grades will do it.
