Raise your voice for civil rights
Raise your voice for civil rights Sixty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. proclaimed his dream for economic inclusion and civil rights. Today we fight to uphold our democracy and combat a rise in hate. The struggle for equity, jobs and justice is ongoing. Please join the UFT to stand with the King family and labor, faith, youth and civil rights groups to continue our activism while we commemorate the 60th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. UFT buses will leave from each of the five boroughs and travel to the Lincoln Memorial. Buses will depart each borough at 5:30 a.m. and leave our checkpoint in D.C. at approximately 4 p.m. You may bring up to two guests, including children over the age of 12. Make sure you and your guests are prepared for a full day of marching and supporting this great cause. Ride the bus and raise your voice. Seats are limited, so add your name right now. March with us and say no to the forces that want to reverse hard-won progress and yes to all working to reclaim and recommit ourselves to Dr. King’s vision. We will continue the fight for jobs, justice and democracy. |
