NYCPS UPDATE: Important News Regarding Yellow Bus Service

Dear families—

Today we are writing to provide an update on a potential bus driver strike that could affect New York City Public Schools students.

Currently, we do not expect a strike on the first day of school – but a strike may still occur at a later date.  Negotiations between the union and our contracted bus companies continue, and we continue to urge the parties to reach a resolution as soon as possible.

We recommend that all impacted families call their bus company (information available in your New York City Schools Account, or NYCSA) or our customer support line at 718-392-8855 if they have any questions about their bus service on the first day of school.  If there is a strike, we will notify all impacted families via email, automated phone call, and SMS messaging using the contact information provided in your NYC Schools Account. In the meantime, please continue to visit our website at schools.nyc.gov/transportation for the most up-to-date information on this developing situation, as well as plans in the case of a strike.

We are committed to supporting our students and families, and will continue to update you as we have more information to share.

Sincerely,

New York City Public Schools
