Update on Yellow Bus Service

Dear Families,

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing with a positive update regarding the potential bus strike that we know has been a cause of concern for families, students, and staff in recent weeks.

We are pleased to share that Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1181 and a set of our contracted school bus companies have announced that they have reached a tentative agreement. We are optimistic that this means that a strike will be averted. We will continue to monitor progress as all parties work towards finalizing this agreement, and we will provide you with updates when we have any new information.

Your child’s education and well-being remain our top priority. We understand the significance of these bus services, especially for our students with disabilities, and look forward to a resolution that upholds the interests of our students and their families.

We appreciate ATU Local 1181 and the bus companies for their cooperation and commitment to ensuring our students’ uninterrupted access to education, and are very grateful to all the families and advocates that galvanized to support us in developing possible solutions and supports in the event of a strike.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this period. We look forward to a bright and productive school year ahead.

Sincerely,

Emma Vadehra
