The NYC Health Department’s Education and Community Partnerships Unit and Poison Control Center thank you for your continuous support. Our on-going partnership enable New Yorkers to learn more about environmental home health hazards. Join us for our free October virtual programs on environmental home health hazards by clicking at this link: https://www.nyc.gov/assets/doh/downloads/pdf/environmental/healthy-homes-trainings-workshops-2023.pdf. The sessions are in English, Spanish, Chinese (mandarin) and Bengali for parents, tenants, older adults, landlords, homeowners, and community residents. A certificate will be provided at the end of the session.

In the month of October, we are celebrating National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week starting from October 22 through October 28, 2023.
Join the NYC Health Department and NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development and other community partners for in-person educational events in your neighborhood. It is an opportunity to raise the awareness in your community about lead poisoning prevention. Lead is a harmful metal that can cause serious health problems. Lead is often found in old paint. Peeling lead paint and the dust in creates can poison your child.
