This year the organization, in partnership again with Tammy Greer-Brown (Howard University Alumnae and founder of the Staten Island HBCU Experience and a new partner, The NAACP Jamaica (NYC) Branch Education Committee (Ronald Britt Chairperson; Candance Prince-Modeste Branch President) invite you to virtually attend our “2023 Virtual HBCU Information Session for NYC High School Guidance Counselors and College Access Professionals”.
In June 2020, October 2020, and April 2021, with over 30 HBCU enrollment professionals and recruiters, and over 120 guidance counselors from across NYC and the surrounding counties of Nassau County, LI and Westchester, NY, we sponsored the Virtual HBCU Information Session for NYC-area High School Guidance Counselors and College Access Programs. The event was very successful with the participating high school counselors in connecting them with various historically black colleges and universities to present a broader range of college options for their students.
The goal of these information sessions is to bring our area high school counselors, college access professionals and community-based organizations together with the admissions/enrollment administrators from several HBCUs to inform them about the admissions requirements, majors, financial aid, scholarships, specialized programs, campus life, and career opportunities at their respective college/university.
The dates are as follows:
Session I (Tuesday, October 24, 2023; 10:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m.)
Session II (Tuesday, October 31, 2023: 10:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m.)
Session III (Wednesday, November 1, 2023; 10:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m.)
Each participating college/university will have up to twenty (20) minutes for presentation and Q & A.
