Dear Parent Leaders,
The Big Apple Awards Nominations Are Now Open! As in prior years, the DOE recognizes and celebrates teacher excellence through the Big Apple Awards (BAA). The BAA nomination process for the upcoming cohort of fellows for the 2024–25 school year is now open through January 19.
You and all members of the school community (including families, students, and community-based organizations) are invited to nominate a teacher for the Big Apple Award by completing this nomination form by January 19. Please backpack home this flyer (with translations) as soon as possible, to encourage students and families to nominate teachers for the award.
Nominated teachers will receive an email from bigappleteachers@schools.nyc.gov with a request to complete a nomination application by February 27. For the 2024–25 school year, there will be a total of 47 Big Apple fellows; all winning fellows will receive surprise visits to their classrooms in May 2024.
