Do you have a child born in 2020? If so, you can apply to Pre-K this winter!
The Pre-K application will open on January 10, 2024; stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the application period. Here’s what you can do now to prepare:
- Explore Pre-K programs in our MySchools directory. You can search program options near you by entering your address and filter based on your needs. For example, you can filter for programs that offer late pickup or have Head Start seats.
- Watch the Pre-K video playlist on our website, featuring several MySchools tutorials including how to create an account.
- Attend program open houses! Visiting programs online or in person is a great way to imagine what it’s like to go there. Visit a program’s website or call them to learn if they will be hosting any events (contact information is on each school’s MySchools page). You can also view and save events to your calendar using our MySchools Events Calendar.
We encourage all New York City families with children born in 2020 to apply. Even if your child is currently attending a 3-K program, you still must apply to Pre-K.
