Save the Date! New York Civic Learning Week March 11th 10 the 15th 2024

New York Civic Learning Week celebrates every New York student’s right to an education that prepares them for engaged civic lives and decision-making in their communities.

We invite you to join DemocracyReady NY in sharing civic learning opportunities throughout the week.

New York Civic Learning Week 2024 aims to build broader awareness of and investment in civic learning, amplify and celebrate youth voices, and empower participants, young and old, to envision themselves as change-makers in our democracy.

DemocracyReady NY is planning a series of virtual events including: Our Summit on Civic Readiness with perspectives from youth, educators, and policymakers on the urgency for civil discourse in response to the current global unrest and upcoming election cycle, An event produced by young people contemplating the role of responsible technology in PreK-12 education, A conversation with educators about laying the foundation for civic learning in the early grades, and An event highlighting national experts discussing the role of assessment in civic learning. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information and how to get your community, school and district involved!
