We’re so thrilled that the 2024-2025 First Tech Fund Fellowship Program application has launched. Rising junior and senior students will have the chance to have access to relevant knowledge as they go through their high school and college experiences. If you haven’t gotten the link to the application already, please click here and we also have some upcoming info sessions throughout the entire month of March where you can learn more about us listed below:

Our fellows have already experienced the benefits of our program and I wanted to take a moment and highlight some of our student stories and how they’ve garnered success with us:

Building Community To Support Student’s Growth

  • Our 2021 alumni Evelyn attends Princeton and will be a part of the class of 2026. During her time in the First Tech Fund Cohort she said, “First Tech Fund enabled me to be a part of a collaborative community that supports, uplifts, and learns from each other because not only am I surrounded by like minded peers, but also my mentor provides personal guidance regarding my future career path and college applications.”
  • Our 2022 alumni Sarah received support in navigating her senior year and applying to scholarships. “The First Tech Fund fellowship program was the best support system for me as I navigated my senior year of high school. It opened so many opportunities for me to explore my passion. I’m incredibly fortunate that I had the support of the First Tech Fund community to help me successfully transition from high school to college.”

Mentorship That Matters

  • Each of our fellows are matched with a young professional in a field they’re interested in. This year our current 2023 fellow Jane shared some highlights of her mentorship experience so far: “She gave me advice on networking and shared that she became a mentor to provide students with support & access, something that was not available to her at my age. It took her a while to settle into a job that resonated with her career interest and major. She stated that having a mentor and someone to guide her throughout the struggles of finding a job after college would have been very helpful, which is why she is providing that assistance to me. ”
  • Our 2023 fellow, Annie, praised her mentor for providing her with a new perspective on the college process: “My mentor was really nice and reassuring and we had a good conversation about choosing colleges. She told me that when she was my age, she wanted to move far away for college as well but now she’s thankful that she actually chose a more local college because after she started working, she wasn’t able to see her family as much. It gave me another perspective on choosing colleges.”

Warm regards,

Jelaney
