COLLEGE READINESS IN JULY (IN-PERSON) Take advantage of the summer and get ready for the college admissions process with Queens Public Library! All high school students and their guardians are invited to learn about the process and receive resources to navigate college admissions beyond this summer. INTRODUCTION TO COLLEGE APPLICATIONS Join the College Readiness team to learn about the college application timeline and what you can do now to prepare. This session will help you create a personalized plan to keep you on track and provide you with resources that support you on your college admissions journey. This session will provide participants with tools to make researching colleges and creating a realistic college list easier. The College Readiness team will provide information on the importance of college fairs and visits, how to prepare for them, and how to maximize your experience. Tuesday, July 30 2pm Central Library 89-11 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica GOAL SETTING FOR FIRST YEAR COLLEGE STUDENTS Join the College Readiness team and set your goals for your first year of college! Work with our staff to determine what you are most looking forward to at school and create personal, academic, or professional goals to keep you on track. Participants will receive a planner to keep track of weekly, monthly, and semester-long goals and resources for first year students. Wednesday, July 31 2pm Central Library 89-11 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica COLLEGE READINESS ONE-ON-ONE COACHING Throughout the summer the library is hosting college coaching hours at Central Library and Cambria Heights Library. Coaching sessions are available to develop individual college admissions strategies, explore college options, and answer any questions students and their families may have. Coaches are also available to answer quick questions and provide resources that meet your college readiness needs. Appointments are available on a walk-in, first-come first-serve basis.
