We want to share that NYCPS Office of School Wellness Programs has opened the Student Wellness Advocates application for High Schoolers. Please see below the message and attached flyer we are sharing with all our partners. We want to encourage you to please forward this email within your networks. We’d like to promote the opportunity far and wide!
Also, stay tuned for information on this year’s Citywide Wellness Advisory Council. We’ll share an update with you on this year’ Council participation in the next few weeks.

The NYCPS Office of School Wellness Programs is excited to announce the launch of a new cohort of Student Wellness Advocates, an opportunity for High School students to join a citywide Youth Leadership Council!
Starting in November, Advocates will support promotion of the NYC Public Schools Citywide Wellness Policy which includes NYC’s vision for health and physical education, physical activity, food and nutrition, and wellness-related programs. Students will also partner with city leaders to promote wellness in school communities and citywide and gain leadership skills and knowledge to empower action and change.
Student Wellness Advocates:
· Collaborate with a group of 15-20 students from across NYC
· Meet every two-three weeks on Wednesdays, 4:30pm-5:30pm, from November to May
· Must be current students at a NYC Public High School (Charter and Private Schools do not qualify)
· Will receive $tipends for attending the group meetings!
