A new initiative that is designed to address systemic inequities, promote safer and more supportive school communities, and improve families’ access to City resources. NYCPS Cares will launch in phases in select school districts beginning with two initiatives: Family Connectors, and the student-led development of new anti-bullying and anti-vaping public service campaigns.
NYCPS Cares will be implemented in phases, and the first phase will be focused on 12 districts that were selected after taking into consideration their respective chronic absenteeism rates, the number of students experiencing housing challenges, and other key social indicators that affect student well-being and success. These 12 districts are: 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 19, 23, 24, 31, and 32.
